For those using the library for the first time
Who can get a library card?
- Those who live in one of the following 7 cities and 1 town.
Ashiya City, Nishinomiya City, Amagasaki City, Takarazuka City, Itami City, Kawanishi City, Sanda City, Inagawa-cho (town) - Those who work or attend school in Ashiya City
Which documents do you need for a library card?
- Documents that show your name and address (driving license, etc.)
- If you work or attend school in Ashiya City, a certificate to prove it (student card, etc.)
How long is a library card valid?
It is valid for three years. Please come to a library counter to renew your card when the expiration date is approaching.
Individual Number ('My Number') Card can be used as a library card
Please bring your Individual Number ('My Number') Card*2 to the registration counter in the Main Municipal Library, Uchide Branch Library or Ohara Branch Library to register.
*2 Individual Number ('My Number') Card which has not registered for the electronic certificate for user identification cannot be accepted.

Bring the books with your library card (or 'My Number' Card) to the lending counter.*1

Returning books
How to return books
- Please return the books to the return counter a Ashiya City library or a library book return post box.
- Please return the books by the return date. In the case of loss or damage to the book, please contact a counter.
Searching books / Reference books
- Please do not hesitate to ask at a counter when you cannot find a book that you are looking for or you want to refer to a book.
- You can search library books owned by Ashiya Municipal Libraries through 'Q-chan', the library catalogue terminal, in the library.
To reserve books
- You can reserve books owned by the libraries, using 'Q-chan', the library catalogue terminal, your PC or smartphone.
- Please ask at a counter if you cannot find the book that you are looking for in the library.

This service is for private use or research purposes only. You can copy a part of the books owned by the library.
Viewing/copying National Diet Library Digital Collection ★
You can view and copy the books provided by the National Diet Library through the designated terminal in the Main Municipal Library. Copy fees are applicable.
Service for people with disability
Audiobooks, delivery service, face-to-face reading service, etc. are available. You need to apply for the service. Please ask us for details.

Note: For those using facilities in the Cultural Zone, parking is free for one hour. Please ask for deduction at the library/facility. - There are no library book return post boxes or parking lots at branch libraries. For partner facilities, please ask them directly.
